Car Accident News | Cary, Illinois
A vehicle crashed into a residence in unincorporated Cary, Illinois, on Monday evening, causing significant property damage and temporarily displacing the occupants. According to the Cary Fire Protection District, emergency crews responded to the 2500 block of Oakdale Terrace shortly after 5:30 p.m. following reports that a Jeep had struck a home.
Upon arrival, firefighters and paramedics discovered the SUV had collided with the structure, leaving visible damage to the property. Three individuals were inside the home when the crash occurred, but all were able to exit safely and were not injured. Two occupants of the Jeep were evaluated at the scene for minor injuries but declined additional medical treatment and transportation to a hospital.
Due to the extent of the structural damage, McHenry County officials determined the residence was unsafe for occupancy until repairs could be completed. The American Red Cross is assisting the affected residents with temporary housing and other immediate needs.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities have not yet announced whether any citations or charges will be issued.
