A 20-year-old Chicago man has been identified as the motorcyclist who died following a crash in Skokie on Friday night. According to authorities, the collision occurred shortly before 10 p.m. in the 5000 block of Touhy Avenue.
Investigators said a westbound vehicle was attempting to make a left turn into a business when it crossed the path of an eastbound motorcycle traveling in the center lane. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the turning vehicle.
The rider was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Mohammed R. Ali of Chicago. Police confirmed that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the crash.
The North Regional Major Crimes Task Force Major Crash Assistance Team is assisting Skokie police as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact investigators.
