Phillips Law Offices – Chicago Accident News Update

A 26-year-old man from Montgomery was killed and another person was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 88 in North Aurora early Sunday morning.

According to Illinois State Police, the crash occurred around 4:47 a.m. on the westbound lanes of I-88 near Lincolnway Street, also known as Route 31. The Kane County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased man as Reng Deng.

Deng was driving one of the vehicles involved in the crash. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, where he later died. An autopsy conducted Monday determined that his preliminary cause of death was head injuries sustained in a crash involving a pedestrian.

A second person was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, state police said. Westbound lanes of I-88 remained closed for several hours while authorities investigated the crash.
