One person lost their life and two others were injured following a serious two-vehicle collision in northwest suburban Rolling Meadows on Tuesday afternoon. According to the Rolling Meadows Police Department, the crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Algonquin Road and Magnolia Drive. Emergency crews arrived to find three occupants involved across the two vehicles, including one vehicle that had overturned due to the impact. Authorities confirmed that one person was pronounced dead at the scene, while two additional victims suffered injuries, including one individual reported to be in critical condition.
As investigators worked to determine what caused the collision, officials closed Algonquin Road in both directions between Barker Avenue and Route 53 to allow emergency responders and crash investigators to safely examine the scene. City officials stated that updates regarding road closures and traffic conditions would be shared through the City of Rolling Meadows social media channels.
