$2.35 Million Settlement Successfully Obtained in a Gasoline Burn Lawsuit

After almost five years of hard fought litigation, Stephen Phillips of Phillips Law Offices is pleased to report that we successfully obtained a $2.35 million settlement in a gasoline burn lawsuit where our sixteen year old client was terribly burned. 
 
Our client was hospitalized and endured almost a month in an intensive care burn unit followed by weeks of in-patient rehabilitation. When he returned home, he continued physical and occupational therapy for months. Now 20 years old, has made a remarkable recovery given the severity and nature of his burns. Our client worked incredibly hard in therapy to regain a semblance of a normal life.
 
There were multiple confidential defendants in the case, who fought aggressively over the four (4) years of discovery to get the case dismissed. The written discovery in the case was voluminous and intense. The settlement was finalized following mediation on November 3, 2021.
 
Stephen Phillips credits the entire firm including his sons, attorney Stephen J. Phillips and Michael J. Phillips (a third year law student) for the case workup from the outset. It was a complete firm effort from an organizational standpoint.
