I have been an attorney who’s practiced virtually 100% personal injury cases for over 30 years. You need a personal injury lawyer when you’ve been injured because of someone else’s fault, neglect, carelessness, or professional negligence. It is very important because oftentimes clients will come to me and say, I didn’t think I was going to be hurt this bad. I had no intention of getting a lawyer. I’m not a litigious person. Oftentimes they’ve already prejudiced their rights. So what I encourage our clients is if you think you have a significant injury, contact our firm immediately. Let us know what happened, how it happened. We can guide you through this process from the get-go before you potentially prejudice yourself or prejudice your case. It is very important that juries understand the harm that’s been caused from other people’s negligence, and at Phillips Law Offices, that’s what we take the time to do both individually and as a team to go through to present the evidence to a jury. At Phillips Law Offices, we’re recognized as leaders in the field of personal injury law. I was the president of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the largest bar association in Illinois that represents injured people and the families of people who are killed due to other people’s negligence. I’ve heard the phrase that your clients are looking for the big ticket, the big win. That is complete nonsense. People take their health for granted until it’s taken from them. Every single one of my clients has said when I present the settlement check or the verdict check to them at the end of the case, I give every dime of this back for my injury had I not gone through it or to get my health back. And I think that’s telling. It’s easy to look out and criticize someone else who’s injured, but when it happens to you, it’s different. And I think it’s very important that I point out to these people who say, hey, he’s a personal injury lawyer, that only 6% of all lawsuits filed are injury cases. It’s a folklore and it’s a myth that’s being spouted by insurance companies, and apparently they’ve gotten to you too, because you’ve bought it. You think it’s true. 70% of all lawsuits that are filed in the court system are businesses such as insurance companies suing other people for money. So when it’s in their interest to file a lawsuit, they will file a lawsuit to collect their money. But when it comes to people who are injured, oh no, we should close the courthouse doors.
