Medical malpractice or medical negligence cases require what’s called a 2622 report. In Illinois, a doctor has to sign off on any medical negligence case before it can be brought. The way to prove a medical negligence case in the early stages is to have it reviewed by a physician. The physician then will determine whether or not a case exists and whether or not it’s meritorious.

Note: The physician’s written report he refers to is required by section 2-622 of the Illinois Code of Civil Procedure (735 ILCS 5/2-622).
