A rollover crash involving a vehicle carrying oil and gravel caused a temporary ramp closure and traffic delays Thursday morning in Chicago’s western suburbs. According to Illinois State Police, the incident occurred shortly before 6 a.m. on the ramp connecting northbound Mannheim Road to the outbound Eisenhower Expressway (I-290).

Authorities said the vehicle overturned on the ramp, spilling oil and gravel across the roadway and creating hazardous driving conditions. Emergency crews responded to the scene and worked for several hours to contain the spill and clear debris from the affected area.

One person sustained minor injuries in the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. No other injuries were immediately reported.

Due to the cleanup operation, the ramp from northbound Mannheim Road to outbound I-290 remained closed for an extended period, and commuters were advised to seek alternate routes until the roadway could be safely reopened.
