Major CTA Train Collision in Rogers Park, Chicago: 19 Injured, Services Disrupted

The Chicago Fire Department has reported that a major collision occurred this morning in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood, involving a CTA train and some rail equipment in the Howard Rail Yard. The latest CFD reports suggest that at least 38 people were injured, with three in critical condition. The incident occurred around 10:39 a.m. near 7500 N. Paulina, close to the Howard Street Stop servicing the Red and Yellow lines. Emergency services responded with multiple ambulances following a crash involving a CTA train.

Preliminary details from the CTA indicate that a Yellow Line Train made contact with rail equipment within the Howard Rail Yard, prompting the suspension of both Yellow and Purple line services.
