A crash involving a CTA bus left seven people injured, including one person who was seriously hurt, Monday morning in Chicago’s West Garfield Park neighborhood. According to Chicago Fire Department officials, the collision happened around 10:45 a.m. near the intersection of South Kostner Avenue and West Congress Parkway, close to Interstate 290.

Video from the scene showed a black sedan with significant damage to its front end. Emergency crews transported all seven injured people to area hospitals for treatment. Officials said two victims were in good condition, four were listed in fair-to-serious condition, and one person was in serious-to-critical condition.

Authorities had not immediately determined how many of those injured were traveling in the CTA bus versus the sedan. Information about the drivers involved was also not immediately available. Chicago police were contacted for additional details as the investigation continued.
